The monograph analyses the features of the political process in Ukraine in the year before the election that influenced on the course of electoral competition. The special attention is given to the specifics of the campaign, the identification strategies of the five parties that won the race – the PARTY OF REGIONS, VO “Bat’kivshchyna”, KPU, political party “UDAR (Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reforms) of Vitaliy Klychko”, VO “Svoboda”. In addition – those parties-outsiders, which in spite of rebranding, exerting every effort for receiving deputy mandates (such as the Party of Nataliia Korolevska - the "Ukraine - Forward!") or their significant political success in the previous years (such as Socialist Party, Narodna Party) in the 2012 elections, experienced failure. By the example of party association (Party “Association of left-wing forces and peasants”) we will analyse the electoral campaign of political forces, whose representatives, in spite of party pooling of resources, didn’t manage to overcome electoral barriers. The special attention is paid to the analysis of the coverage parliamentary electoral 2012 campaign in Ukraine by foreign mass media.
