V.Vojnalovych. Party-state Politics toward Religion and religious Institutions in Ukraine within 1940-1960-s: the politological Dyscurs.

The monograph represents the result of a board and comprehensive research of Communist Party and Soviet State politics toward religion and religious institutions in Ukraine 1940-1960-s. Author enables sizeable unpublished data from Soviet central and provincial archives revealing nature, substance, and matter of the evolution of the totalitarian State Church politics’ with reference to the different stages of Soviet history and to all principal actors of Ukrainian religious scene. The models of politics employed for restriction Orthodox, Greek Catholic, Rome Catholic, Reformat churches, Protestant denominations and Jewish communities were examined in detail. The political machinery engaged for religious politics realization, legal tools as well as method of totalitarian state for extermination of intuitional religion and quasi – atheist indoctrination of the population then Ukrainian SSR were analyzed. Author advances original theoretical and methodological ground for his research and suggests the possible approaches and focuses for the further surveys of the problem. Special attention author pays to the discussion of the Church-State problems in independent Ukraine which grow out from Soviet religious politics.
