IRYNA VOLODYMIRIVNA OVCHAR
Acting senior researcher of the Department of Political Institutes and Processes, Candidate of Political Sciences.
In 2004, she graduated with honors from the Faculty of History of Vasyl Stefanyk Prykarpattia University and entered graduate school.
In 2009, at the Institute of Political and Ethnonational Studies named after I. F. Kurasa of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine defended her candidate’s thesis on the topic “Political transformations in the Soviet Union during the period of perestroika (1985-1991)” with the specialty 23.00.02 – political institutions and processes and obtained the scientific degree of candidate of political sciences.
In 2009 and 2018, she advanced her qualifications at the Institute of Legislation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the areas of: law-making process and legislation of EU countries.
In 2013–2014, she studied at the master’s degree at the Institute of Intellectual Property of the National University “Odesa Legal Academy”.
In 2022, she attended the “American Politics and Government System” program at the Ukrainian Catholic University.
In the period from 2008 to 2010, she worked in a scientific institution. Between 2010 and 2023, she combined work in law firms and government agencies. She participated in the work of expert groups on the development of draft laws in the areas of legal policy, local self-government, the judicial system, anti-corruption policy, intellectual property, election legislation and regulatory procedures.
Since June 2023, he has been performing the duties of a senior researcher at the Department of Political Institutes and Processes of the Institute of Political and Ethnonational Studies named after I. F. Kuras NAS of Ukraine.
The author of an individual monograph and more than 50 other scientific publications. Leads media blogs devoted to the analysis of political processes and legal acts. Has a certificate for a literary written work of a scientific nature.
Scientific interests: institutional processes in Ukraine, problems of interaction of authorities, party and political ideology, issues of constitutionalism and electoral law, formation of public policy and information processes, political transformations during the period of reconstruction in the USSR and independent Ukraine, modeling of social influences and forecasting, law-making activities and political analytics.
