Dehterenko Anastasiia Mykolaivna
Leading Research Scientist of the Ethnopolitics Department, PhD (Political Science), Associate Professor
Born in 1982. In 2004, she graduated with honours from the historical faculty of the Mariupol State University; in 2012, she graduated with honours from the economics faculty of Donetsk National University.
In 2007, she defended her PhD thesis at the Specialized Scientific Board at Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on the topic: «Ethno-National Aspect of the Activities Carried Out by the Territorial Communities of Ukrainian Northern Pryazov’ye (as viewed in political science) ».
In 2011, she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy. In 2021, she completed her doctoral studies at the National Institute for Strategic Studies. Topic of her dissertation: «Ethno-national Policy of Ukraine: Formation, Transformation, Security Imperatives».
She worked at the Mariupol State University as an associate professor of international relations and foreign policy, the director of the Gender Studies and Education Centre. Founder of the NGO «Mariupol Gender Centre». Long-time experience of working out and writing projects, which were supported by international and of the country’s organizations, as well the experience of preparation of reports as outcomes of these projects.
Since 2014, she has worked at the National Institute for Strategic Studies as the Chief consultant of the ethnic and political sector of the political system development department, Head of the ethnic and political sector of the political system development department, Leading Research Scientist.
Since October 2021 she has been working at Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine as a leading research scientist.
Successfully completed internships: in 2002, she completed an internship at the Education Centre of the Greek Republic in Kavala; 2005, an internship at the University of Cyprus in the Republic of Cyprus, Nicosia; 2009, training activities within framework «Programs of the trainers in gaining gender awareness and gender sensitivity of the teachers» of the United Nations Development Programme; 2010, training of the United Nations Development Programme in Lithuania «Program of equal facilities and women’s rights in Ukraine»; 2014, training according to the course of the Council of Europe in UA «Consolidation and children’s right defense in Ukraine».
In 2021, successfully completed the «Writing and Visualizing Data-Based Policies» program at The School of Public Management at Ukrainian Catholic University of Ukraine. In the summer of 2021 she completed the 6th International Summer Course German Politics at Julius-Maximilians-Universität of Würzburg, Germany.
Author of more than 100 research publications – texts of individual books, thesis chapters, briefs and papers, conference presentations.
Research interests: ethno-national policy of Ukraine, ethno-political conflicts in the modern world, human rights.
