NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACADEMIC EXCHANGE: COOPERATION BETWEEN THE INSTITUTE AND THE UNIVERSITY OF WROCŁAW

The 6-th of October as part of a working visit to the University of Wrocław and the implementation of the international research project “Political System in Action,” a meeting was held between Galyna Zelenko, Director of the Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and Jacek Przygodzki, Doctor Habilitated, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics at the University of Wrocław.

The meeting was also attended by Nataliia Kononenko, Deputy Director for Research, and Rostyslav Balaban, Leading Research Fellow at the Department of Political Institutions and Processes.

The central focus of the meeting was to expand opportunities for academic mobility and direct interaction between researchers from the two institutions. The parties discussed opportunities for academic exchanges of researchers and teaching staff, joint grant projects, guest lectures and short-term lecture courses, as well as the participation of Ukrainian researchers in the educational activities of the University of Wrocław.

Particular attention was paid to creating opportunities for research stays and fellowships for academic staff, PhD students and other early-career researchers. Such cooperation would involve not only familiarisation with the university’s academic environment, but also direct participation in research and educational projects, collaboration with academic teams, and the development of professional networks.

Another important area of cooperation discussed was the possibility of engaging researchers from the University of Wrocław in guest lectures for PhD students, methodological seminars and academic discussions. This would contribute to expanding international academic communication and strengthening the integration of Ukrainian researchers into the European academic space.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further develop concrete formats for academic exchange, guest teaching and research stays for academic staff, PhD students and early-career researchers, as well as to continue work on joint international projects.

The development of such contacts is an important component of the Institute’s strategy to expand international partnerships and strengthen the integration of Ukrainian political science into the European academic community.
