THE INSTITUTE EXPANDS ITS INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS: MEETING WITH THE LEADERSHIP OF THE INSTITUTE OF POLITICAL STUDIES OF THE POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES
A working meeting was held between the leadership of the Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the leadership of the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The Ukrainian delegation included Director Halyna Zelenko, Deputy Director Nataliia Kononenko, and Leading Research Fellow Rostyslav Balaban. The Polish side was represented by Director Dr hab. Piotr Osęka, Deputy Director Dr hab. Ireneusz Sadowski, and Head of Department Dr hab. Tomasz Stryjek.
The meeting took place within the framework of the joint project “Political System in Action,” implemented by Ukrainian scholars in cooperation with the University of Warsaw.
The central focus of the meeting was expanding international academic cooperation and identifying new areas for joint research. The participants discussed opportunities to develop and implement joint research projects, organise international academic events, facilitate academic exchange, and engage researchers in international research networks.
Particular attention was paid to the exchange of experience in the functioning of contemporary research institutions. The discussion covered issues related to human resources, the evaluation of research performance, accreditation, and the organisation of research teams.
An important part of the discussion concerned the methodological foundations of political research and opportunities to exchange methodological approaches, research practices, and experience in assessing the quality of academic output.
The participants also discussed prospects for organising joint conferences, seminars, round tables, and other international academic events, which could provide a platform for strengthening Ukrainian-Polish academic dialogue.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their interest in further developing systematic international cooperation, expanding joint research activities, and launching new formats of interaction between research institutions.
For the Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, developing partnerships with leading European research centres is an important priority in strengthening its international presence and further integrating Ukrainian political science into the European academic community.
