BOYKO OLEKSANDR DMYTROVYCH
Leading Researcher of the Department of Theory and History of Political Science (part-time), Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor.
He was born on April 20, 1958 in Novoselitsa, Chernivtsi region. In 1980, he graduated from Chernivtsi National University. Since 1980, he has been working at Nizhyn Mykola Gogol State University. Candidate of Historical Sciences (since 1989), Associate Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine (since 1990).
In 2003, in the specialized academic council at the Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Systemic and political transformation in Ukraine (April 1985–August 1991): historical and political analysis.” In 2005, he was awarded the academic title of professor.
Dean of the Faculty of History and Law (1999–2003), since February 2004 – Deputy Director of Educational and Educational Work, Professor of the Department of World History and Political Science of the Interregional Humanitarian Institute of Kyiv Slavonic University. Since September 2004, vice-rector for educational and methodological work of the Kyiv Slavonic University. From July 2005 to February 2006, he was the first vice-rector of Kyiv Slavonic University.
In 2006–2016, he was the rector of Nizhyn Mykola Gogol State University, in 2016–2021 he was the first vice-rector, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work of the university. Since 2021, he has been a professor at the Department of Political Science, Law and Philosophy.
Since February 2024, he has been working part-time as a leading researcher at the Department of Theory and History of Political Science at the Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the NAS of Ukraine.
Author of more than 450 printed works, including more than 60 book editions (44 training manuals and textbooks, 17 individual and collective monographs). Member of the editorial boards of scientific journals: “Studia Politologica Ucraino-Polona” (Ukrainian-Polish Political Science Studies), “Problems of International Relations”. In 2015–2018, he was a participant in the grant project “Gender studies: a step towards democracy and peace in countries with different traditions neighboring the European Union” under the Erasmus+ program. He was recognized as the “Best University Scientist” in 2006-2014 and in 2019.
Laureate of the “Suchasnist” magazine award and the League of Ukrainian Patrons in the “Social and Political Sciences” category (2003), awarded with the K. D. Ushinsky medal of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2007).
