Oleksiy Oleksiyovych Lyashenko
Research Scientist of Department of Ethnopolitics, Candidate of Historical Sciences.
He was born on March 27, 1976 in the city of Lubny, Poltava region. In 1993 he graduated Lubny secondary school № 10 with a gold medal.
In 1998 he graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 1998–2001 he studied at the graduate school of the Faculty of History of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Оn May 2002 he defended his dissertation on “Ukraine’s integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures (90s of the twentieth century)” and obtained a Ph.D. in Historical Sciences in specialty 07.00.02 – World History.
At Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine worked since October 2001 as a junior research scientist, and since December 2015 he has been working as a research scientist at the Department of National Minorities.
Author of about forty scientific publications on the problems of European integration of Ukraine and ethnopolitics. He is the сo-author of eight collective monographs.
Actively participates in the scientific and practical activities. He was an official opponent in the defense of dissertation.
Research interests: national minorities of Ukraine, ethno-national policy, sociology of political preferences, ethno-political aspects of Ukraine’s European integration.
