Yuriy Mykolayovych Polischuk
Leading Research Scientist of the Department of Political Culture and Ideology, Doctor of Historical Sciences, associate professor.
Yurii Polishchuk was born on January 1, 1958. In 1983 he graduated from the Faculty of History of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 1990 he acquired Ph D. degree in history, in 2013 – Doctor of Historical Sciences. During 2015–2023 Professor of the Department of Modern History of Ukraine, Faculty of History of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
During 1983–2000 – Yurii Polishchuk worked as an assistant, teacher, associate professor of the Department of History and Political Science of Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State Pedagogical Institute.
Since 2000 he had been conducting research at Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine as a Senior Research Scientist, and from 2015 – as a Leading Research Scientist.
Member of the Academic Council at Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
During 2016–2023 member of the specialized academic council D 26.001.20 for the defense of dissertations for the degree of Doctor (Candidate) of Historical Sciences at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
He was awarded the badge “Excellence in Education of Ukraine” (2000), thanks to the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2016), the award of the NAS of Ukraine “For professional achievements” (2017).
Author of more than 200 scientific and educational works on the history of Ukraine, ethnopolitics, political science, published in Ukraine and Poland. Prepared 2 candidates of sciences.
Research interests: ethnic policy of the Russian Empire in Ukraine in the late eighteenth – early twentieth century., Ethnopolitical processes in modern Ukraine.
