Zoreslav Fedorovych Samchuk
Chief Research Scientist, Doctor of Philosophy, Senior Research Scientist.
He was born on March 9, 1965. In 1989 he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Taras Shevchenko State University of Kyiv. He defended his dissertation on June 27, 1994 in the specialized academic council of Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv, specialty 09.00.03 – social philosophy and philosophy of history. He defended his doctoral dissertation on March 25, 2010 in the specialized academic council of the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, specialty 09.00.03 – social philosophy and philosophy of history. The academic title of senior researcher in the specialty 09.00.03 – social philosophy and philosophy of history was awarded in 2009.
He began his career in 1989 as an editor of literature on philosophy at the publishing house “Higher School” (since 1991 – the publishing house “Lybid”).
From 2000 to 2003 he was a leading researcher at the Department of Social Problems of Higher Education and Upbringing of Student Youth of the Institute of Higher Education of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
In 2003–2005, he was the head of the political analysis department of the Main Department for Internal Policy of the Administration of the President of Ukraine.
From 2005 to 2016 – Chief Researcher and Head of the Department of Social Problems of Higher Education at the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
He has been working at Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since 2016 as a Chief Research Scientist.
In 2014-2015 – Chairman of the Specialized Academic Board D 26.456.01 for the defense of doctoral (candidate) dissertations in the specialties 09.00.03 – social philosophy and philosophy of history and 09.00.10 – philosophy of higher education.
Supervisor and consultant of 4 doctoral and 8 candidate defended dissertations.
In 2004-2005 he was the editor-in-chief of the scientific journal “Actual Problems of Domestic Policy” (published by the Administration of the President of Ukraine).
Scientific Secretary of the Ukrainian Academy of Political Sciences. In 2008, he served as First Deputy Chairman of the Public Scientific and Expert Board on Socio-Economic Development under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (2015). He has departmental awards of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine – awarded the Diploma of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (2007), the Diploma of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (2010), the medal “Ushinsky K.D.” (2014).
Research interests: systemic functioning of society, solving theoretical, methodological and applied problems of the socio-political sphere, socio-cultural and civilizational conditionality of political processes, political analysis, effective management decisions, features of development and modernization of science, etc.
