The authors thoroughly explore questions pertaining to the description of the international legal status of the Western Ukrainian lands, the development of the social and political-party structure in Galicia, Volyn, Bukovyna and Transcarpathia, and the specific character, forms and mechanisms of the manifestation of Ukraine political interests in each of these historical parts of Ukraine which then belonged to other states. The authors have convincingly evidenced that the political history of the Ukrainians outside the Ukrainian SSR during the interwar period is inseparable from the history of Ukraine as a political entity.
