In 1981 graduated from the Department of History of the Ivan Franko National University of L’viv, where in 1988 he defended his thesis and received his title of Candidate of Historical Sciences.
During 1981–2006 he worked as a senior laboratory assistant, assistant, associate professor at the Ivan Franko National University of L’viv, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Kyiv International University of Civil Aviation, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. In 1992 he started to work at the Department of Etho-Historical Research of the I. F. Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies as a junior research fellow.
In 2014 he completed his Doctoral Thesis in Political Science. He took part in number of the research projects, such as The Ukrainian Idea, Ukraine in Political Systems in XX century, Revolutions and Identities in Contemporary Ukraine, Political Identities in Contemporary Ukraine, Political science in Ukraine
V. Yaremchuk is the author of over 200 scholarly, educational and methodological publications on history, political science and cultural studies, published in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.
