In the book, based on the analysis of various facts from the history of international relations, in which the political factor of their evolution was ethnicity, the theoretical and conceptual approximation to the scientific approach, which is to apply the provision of the general theory of systems to social phenomena, is proposed.

On the basis of a wide range of sources, the formation, reproduction and circulation of political identities in Chernivtsi city community are analysed. The special attention is given to the cross-temporal dynamics of electoral identities, socio-cultural dimensions of the political identification processes and symbolic structures of political identities of citizens in Chernivtsi.

The scientific work is devoted to actual problems of social and political development in the conditions of civilizational transformations. On the basis of modern theoretical concepts and analysis of political practices, the authors carried out the research into the prerequisites, the state and perspectives for the new stage in realization of civilization Ukraine’s development in the context of modern social and political changes, the risks and possible threats to the Ukrainian state and national identity are defined.

The monograph examines the theoretical and practical aspects of the transformation of the political institutions in modern Ukraine. The methodological and theoretical principals of the transformation of political institutions in Ukraine are revealed, the interaction study of political institutions and civic society at the present stage of democratic development is carried out, the impact on the transformation of the political institutions of electoral processes, mass media and other factors of socio-political changes is analysed.

With the involvement of a wide range of sources, the variety of factors which influenced the political identities formation and development of the inhabitants in Donetsk, are examined.
