The materials of the book open the vital and creative development of the talented scientist, the historian, the political scientist, the experienced organizer of the science, the first director of the Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Vice-President of NAS of Ukraine – I.F.Kuras. His public and political work, in particular, in the higher governmental organs – in the Cabinet of Ministers and Supreme Rada of Ukraine.
In the proposed research, attempts to analyze the social transformation processes in Ukraine comprehensively, starting from the second half of the XIX century to the present are made. First of all, it was found out that in the early XX century, Ukraine, being between the two most powerful continental empires – the Russian and Austro-Hungarian, being languid with foreign oppression, at the end of the same age, started to build up its own state, which united almost the entire nation.
In the monograph, the theoretical, methodological and practical aspects of politics through a prism of its scientific and mythological components’ interaction are studied. The essence of a political myth, its role in formation of political consciousness and political life is revealed. Specifics of modern development of Ukraine in a context of real polici and myth’s two – way influence are analyzed. The processes of political myths’ designing are given. In the book, theoretical and methodological bases of studying political and aesthetically acceptable phenomena, interrelation of political life and consciousness, influence of mythical and historical world outlook on perception of policy, possibility of application aesthetically acceptable categories in the analysis process of aesthetically acceptable displays of a policy and a historical embodiment are given. In the complex research which was carried out by historians, political scientists, economists, jurists and sociologists, for the first time in the historiography of Ukraine, an attempt to analyse thousand-year history of the Ukrainian people by means of politological instruments was made. The analysis of mutual relations between the state and a society was necessary to define the basic appropriateness of political systems functioning and to give an objective appraisal of a modern situation for the purpose of its improvement.
