In the articles, which are published in the book, the different views on events that Ukraine has been going through since late 2004 and were linked to presidential elections are set out. Interpretations, which are offered by the authors of articles, are sometimes contradictory and ambiguous, but they are united by the desire to understand the essence of what happened, articulating the lessons that the politics and society have to learn from those events.
In the book, the interdependence of corruption in Ukraine, with politics, economics, morality, law and other spheres of social life, is examined. The multiple-aspect nature of corruption, its systemic nature in Ukraine is shown. But, as the authors prove, it is not politics, but the antipolitics which erodes the state mechanism of Ukraine, destroys normal social relations, and distorts the modern Ukrainian politics, which is aimed for the harmony in the country, economic growth and European choice.
In the book, the basic theory and analysis of the electoral system are stated; the historical retrospective of the electoral law and electoral practices is given. The author makes a comparative political analysis of the electoral law in European and CIS countries. The electoral experience of modern Ukraine and results of the parliamentary race in the period of independence are summarized. The electoral system as a complex of political institutions interactions and as a part of the electoral system, is studied. Monograph is one of the attempt’s complex investigation of essence, state and tendency development of election technologies in the present Ukraine as an example the Parliamentary elections. Analysed the conceptual machinery of election technologies, defined the methods of the investigation electorate space. Systematized the existing point of views to the definition of election technologies and proposed author’s sight of their substance. The authors of the monograph traced the development of protocivilizations and civilizations which had existed on the tcritory of the contemporary Ukraine from the ancient times to the emerging of the Kyiv Rus ancient Rus civilization, its transformations within the Lithuanian-Polish state and, consequently, Polish state of Rech Pospolitaya, establishing the Kossack civilization and Bogdan Khmelnitskys state, functioning of the Ukrainian civilization within the boundaries of the Russian Empire, Poland, the Austrian-Hungarian Empire,and the Soviet Union and the emerging of the modem Ukrainian civilizations of the period of the independence of Ukraine, gained in the 1991.
